About me

As a Cultural Care representative, I am a resource for families who are considering hosting an au pair. I am an advocate for this unique form of childcare that provides families with a great deal of flexibility at an affordable price, while also providing a valuable cultural exchange experience for both host families and au pairs. Perhaps you are comparing au pairs to daycares or nannies, or looking for help with school-aged children before and after school. I can help you determine if au pair childcare is the right childcare solution for you.

My name is Dana Graber and I am proud to be Local Childcare Coordinator (LCC) for the Denver area. I have lived in Denver since 2008 and I am originally from Riga, Latvia. Latvia is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe and is the middle of three Baltic States: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. I have traveled around the Europe, United States and have been in Africa twice! I love learning about different cultures, making lifelong friends and, of course, sampling cuisines from around the world! I enjoyed being an au pair myself for 2 years and now I am very happy to help au pairs and host families have the best experience throughout their year together.

In the spring of 2014, me and my husband moved into our custom built home in the Hilltop neighborhood. Currently, I enjoy my work as an real estate agent and executive assistant with the Denver Luxe Team at Keller Williams. I also assist my husband with his business of managing new developments in the Hilltop neighborhood.

As a former Au pair I have firsthand experience with cultural exchange on personal level, so I understand what au pairs and host families are going through during their program year together. Additionally, I know what a wonderful impact a caring and inspiring childcare provider can have on a child’s life. Needless to say, I am excited to be a part of an organization that plays such a vital role in increasing cross-cultural understanding while providing a much-needed service. I am thrilled to be in a position to facilitate high quality child care for host families while continuing to meet, support and learn about new cultures with the au pairs.
As a Local Childcare Coordinator with Cultural Care Au Pair, I enjoy matching host families with qualified au pairs. All our candidates are thoroughly screened and interviewed before being accepted into the program, so you know you’re only seeing the best candidates.

About program. All Cultural Care Au Pair participants are pre-screened and interviewed before arriving to the U.S. Once they arrive they go through a comprehensive training program where they learn CPR, First Aid and child development. Every au pair obtains J-1 Visa which allows the au pair to legally work in the U.S. for 12 months. The au pair program can be extended for up to 12 additional months. Once you join our program, I will guide you throughout the process of selecting and welcoming your au pair!
The Cultural Care Au Pair program has many host parents who rejoin year after year because of the great au pairs we provide. Parents know that an au pair can give them more scheduling flexibility than a nanny or babysitter. Families who host au pairs enjoy excellent child care at home, without the worry of packing the kids off to daycare every day. It’s really a thrill to me to see how some families bond with their au pairs, and the long-term friendships that develop through this program. It can be a life-changing experience for your family! At an average of $360 per week up to 45 hours of child care (per family not per child), it’s also one of the most affordable live-in child care options out there. We hope you’ll become one of our host families, and will be hosting au pairs for years to come!  If you are still considering whether au pairs are the right option for you, click here to compare the benefits of au pairs to nannies and day care providers. Cost comparison.
