Dear Au Pairs and Host Families,

Finally the nicer and warmer weather is here even thought we still can get some cold days. Enjoy the sun but be prepared to grab a coat just in case. Spring is a great season in Denver because the weather is mostly warm but not as hot as in summer. And also there are lots of outdoor events starting to happen all around the town.  Baseball season is upon us, which means it’s time for peanuts, hotdogs and homeruns! Don’t miss the Colorado Rockies Home Opener on April 4th where the Colorado Rockies square off against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Come down and root for the home team!

Denver Auto Show (April 9-13) Located at the Colorado Convention Center, the Denver Auto Show is the premier showcase of the newest model year import and domestic vehicles — cars, vans, crossovers, hybrids, light trucks and sport utilities. Au pairs and household help: what and how much is ok?


One great part about the au pair program is that au pairs can help with household duties related to the kids, and as any busy parent knows, even a little bit of help goes a long way. But what and how much is ok? Read HERE!

 Attention- Host Family and Au Pair monthly meeting-  April

Just a reminder – Please save the following dates for the monthly au pair meetings:

 Saturday, April 12th, 2014, Denver Nuggets vs. Utah Jazz. Time: 7:00 PM at Pepsi Center. Host parents, and Au Pairs please mark your calendars for this annual Host Family and Au pair event.– Host families must attend at least one of the two host family events over the course of the year.

Tickets are $22/per person and include a meal voucher (what a deal!). It’s a family night promo that night. The tickets may be purchased as individual ticket or as a group package (price doesn’t change).  I encourage host parents to purchase group/ family tickets for all of you coming, so you could get your seats together.

There will be other Denver Lcc’s and their groups. Please bring your whole family (if you can) and your friends/ neighbors- this is going to be lots of fun! Everyone is invited! Please buy directly at the link given.


Upcoming meetings.

May 7th, at 6:30pm – Continuing Safety Education Program- Water Safety and Drowning prevention.   Place to be determined.

June– Film on the Rocks. Details to follow.

July– Jazz in the Park

August– second host family event

September– Baseball game

P.s. if any of you have a great idea for a monthly meeting please let me know. All ideas are considered. Dates could change if we agree to do something fun that is not available on the dates I picked. Friends are always welcome.




Arriving, April 22ndNina Dold, 22, from Germany, is joining the Youssi family. She will be taking care for a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old boys and a 3-year-old girl. Nina likes to read books, watch movies, go out with friends, cooking and enjoys sports like soccer, ping pong, badminton, basketball, swimming, outdoor skating, biking, snowboarding and surfing. Nina is a second year extension and is arriving from Evergreen, CO.

Au Pairs, I expect every one of you to at least make a phone call to our new au pair and welcome her.  This is so important!  Please make an effort to invite Nina to join you for a coffee or an evening out.
